The property consists of 2 houses in one of the most desirable areas of Megunticook Lake in Camden, Maine just 2 miles from Camden Harbor.
The "Lower Lake House", which has been in the family for over a century, sits on the water's edge on a quiet cove. There is a shallow beach area that provides a safe play spot for not quite swimmers as well as being a convenient place to launch kayaks & paddle boards. In addition, there is a deep water dock and large float for swimming, diving or just relaxing. The cottage faces west getting the afternoon sun and beautiful sunsets, yet also has shady spots for lounging in the hammock. Inside, the recently renovated galley kitchen opens unto a large light-filled living room / dining area which in turn connects to a screened porch, ideal for reading, playing games or dining. There are 2 bedrooms - one with a queen size bed and the other smaller one with a bunk bed. There is a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is also a newly added outdoor shower and a separate bathhouse for changing.
Situated directly across Beaucaire Avenue is the "Upper Lake House" which is set back on a slope in the woods away from the road. The fully remodeled cottage has all the amenities including all new kitchen appliances and HVAC system. There is a large, well equipped kitchen with granite countertops, a full size stove, dishwasher and microwave. In addition, there is a hidden laundry area with full size washer & dryer. The large walnut covered island is ideal for prepping or serving. The great room has amazing views overlooking the lake through double doors leading to a spacious deck. There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath with glass shower. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and attached bathroom that also can be reached from the hall. Both baths have been completely remodeled.
